Subject: <E30> 323i L-Jetronic Boost??
As posted previously, I'm having a 2.7 liter engine built for my 1983 323i.
Many thanks to those who have replied to my query about getting high
compression pistons, and also the one about bypassing the rev limiter. If
anyone's interested, I found reasonable pistons from Double 02 in Hayward,
Ca; and have learned that my rev limiter is integral to the ecu on the
L-Jetronic system.
While looking into the rev limiter question, I also learned that the
L-Jetronic does not adapt to increased airflow/HP very well, as compared to
K-Jetronic. I've heard this 2.3 liter to 2.7 liter conversion has gone well
on older 323i's (probably K-Jetronic), and am now wondering how best to boost
fuel delivery to the larger 2.7 liter, better breathing engine managed by
L-Jetronic. My Bentley Fuel Injection book references an adjustable fuel
pressure regulator from Micro Dynamics, distibuted in US by Veloce
Distributing. Does anyone know how to get in touch with either company, or
have other suggestions? Also, can the ecu be reprogrammed for increased rev
limits and increased fuel?
Sorry to be so long winded, and as always, thanks for your valuable advice!
